Shauni Kennedy started this petition

For months now we have been fighting to get our loved ones chambers checked in Ayr cemetery, which we were told had been water damaged. This should never have happened in the first place. The plots should have been tested before allowing anyone to purchase the final resting place for their loved ones.

Recently the only communication from SAC has been a letter advising all family members to quickly make a decision in regards to the options below -

 1. Only drain water from chamber (Not knowing if personal items have been damaged and what effect this has had on our loved ones).

2. Loved ones being exhumed, moved into a standard coffin and stored in a safe place.

We only have until the 18th of May to make that decision which is disgusting considering what they have put all of us through. This is personal and when we all laid our loved ones at rest for the final time we should have felt at ease knowing that they were safe for ever, however this is brought us nothing but distress and heartache.

We have made this petition for everyone to hopefully sign and help us get closure and make our loved ones comfortable in there safe place at last. Signing this petition we would be hoping for brand new coffins (ones of our choice) Our loved ones to be given the opportunity of fresh/dry clothes on them, also for us to be able to put some more personal things in with them incase the last ones were damaged, We wouldn’t have to see them, just knowing we’ve placed something special in with them again will make us feel at ease. Also if families wanted they can attend a reburial to say there final goodbyes now that there loved ones are resting at peace.

Thank you for taking the time to read and sign this, I am so greatful and hopefully things change asap.
