Every workplace is legally required to provide its workers with clean and accessible washrooms. Yet, in 2022, most Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Limited stands lack toilets for women!

Imagine working 8-hour shifts standing amidst crowds on a bus. Now imagine doing this without a single, clean washroom accessible to you. This is what our women conductors go through every single day. To deal with the lack of restrooms, they sometimes go to work without drinking water, leading to dehydration. When going to the toilet is unavoidable, such as during menstrual cycles, they use public restrooms leading to infections, some of which may lead to hospitalisation.

Women conductors have been demanding washrooms for over a decade, but nothing has been done yet! Punekars, let us unite to support our workers by demanding safe and accessible toilets in every bus stand in Pune. We require at least 1 washroom per 25 women workers and nothing less!
