Here are the questions we submitted for today’s interview which will commence at 4pm.
1) Teachers in our district are held to stringent standards when it comes to their individual evaluations. In 2017, the school district spent nearly $20,000 on professional contractors to gather information for an evaluation of Traci Davis’ job performance. The information gathered came back as a 2.67 out of 4, warranting a grade of, “minimally effective,” and yet the board went against its own approved rubric and evaluation method to give a rating of, “accomplished.” What would you say to parents and teachers who are rightfully upset by the outcome and feel it unfair?
(Holland cites that she did not agree with reducing a person’s performance to a number. By that logic, does Ms. Holland disagree with the GPA system? Would the board be in favor of altering a student’s 2.67 GPA to something higher arbitrarily as well?)
2) Traci Davis purchased the Accelify IEP program for Washoe County. This program is more expensive than most of its kind in the state and is still not approved by the state. The system is infamous for being unreliable and is regularly causing teachers to be out of compliance with state regulations through no fault of their own. Why is Washoe County using a program that seems to be so difficult to navigate and so much more expensive?
3) There have been multiple complaints against Traci Davis and her administration resulting in settlements paid. Confidentiality agreements make researching these figures somewhat difficult, but there is no violation of individual confidentiality in knowing the total numbers. What has been the total taxpayer cost of settlements and legal fees resulting from these complaints during her tenure as Superintendent?
4) Any response to claims that Trina Olsen is still being harassed and threatened with defamation lawsuits and other tactics that have been described as bullying tactics?
5) What steps are being taken to recover the millions of dollars missing or unaccounted for out of the school district budget? Any information on where that money has gone?
