In August 2015 my ex boyfriend beat and suffocated my three year old daughter, she was covered in bruises and a popped blood vessel in her eye, the bruises lasted two weeks. Her abuser, Kyle Robin Welch, a 30 year old trained cage fighter took his aggressions out on my baby, and nearly took her life. Due to the fact that he had no criminal record, he was sentenced to 5 days in jail. Why?? Why does he get hardly a slap on the wrist? So he can be free to harm another child? What about his current girlfriend's children? Why isn't there a law requiring child abusers to register just as an animal abuser does? Why do we protect our pets more than our children? Are they less valuable? NO! And we need to bring and end to this! We need to not only protect any possible future victims, but serve some justice to those who have been abused and even killed. Child abuse is REAL! It is soul crushing to not only the victims but to the victims families. Through the whole court process I, the victims mother, was treated like the criminal. All because I disagreed with the prosecuting attorney's please offer. How dare I want justice for my daughter right? NO! How dare you! How dare the benton county superior court not demand justice! Athena deserves real justice!
