JUSTICE FOR TRAVIESO

JUSTICE FOR TRAVIESO

The Issue

NEW INFORMATION HAS BEEN BROUGHT TO ATTENTION! PLEASE SEE UPDATE! A MAN BY THE NAME BILL BORCHERS KILLED TRAVIESO!

At 5pm on August 15th of 2019, Erica Aguilar received heartbreaking photos of her deceased dog. On a post made to Facebook regarding the incident Erica wrote “Not even ten minutes that our family dog ran out of our house by accident and when my mom and brothers ran out to look for him, he had been shot at 3 times by the owners of Kamei campground in Manson, Washington”

She added that the man who owns the Campgrounds JJ Miller told Aguilar that he didn’t shoot at Travieso. He later told the cops that he shot at Travieso because the Pitbull mix was on his yard. The animal control officers told Aguilar that Miller changed his story yet again and stated that it was because the dog was acting aggressively towards him and his six year old which is not a true statement according to Aguilar. “Our dog grew up with my little brothers since it was born, he slept with them at night, he snored as if he was one of my brothers.”

Erica said in her Facebook post that JJ had previously threatened her little brothers (ages 9 and 11) that he would shoot Travieso if he was on his yard again. “It was an accident when our dogs got out, we never intentionally let them out without tying them up. [...] watching my brothers break down on my murdered dog was the worst thing to watch. My brothers are traumatized because of this.”

The Chelan County sheriffs went to Aguilar’s house telling her and her family that it was their fault Travieso got shot and that THEY made this occur for being irresponsible pet owners. The Sheriffs said that it was LEGAL for Miller to shoot Travieso because he claimed he was on his property. Though, when Aguilar’s mother found Travieso’s lifeless body, it wasn’t even on Miller’s property, which would make it ILLEGAL.

“My whole family is broken and devastated over this. We can’t do anything now because nothing can bring our dog back. And we just have to live with the thought that just because you own a gun you can shoot at an innocent animal just because he ended up in your yard by accident. [...] We aren’t letting this go, we just want justice for our dog!”

I urge you to sign this petition to help get Justice for Travieso by punishing the responsible party to the fullest extent of the law.
