End Glyphosate use in Washington State Parks
The Issue
Washington State Parks uses carcinogenic glyphosate in its state parks to control poison hemlock and other plants. As of July 7, glyphosate, the main ingredient in Monsanto's RoundUp, appears on the State of California's list of cancer-causing chemicals. We urge the Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission and its director, Don Hoch, to find a non-toxic alternative to glyphosate that will not poison humans, wildlife, and the environment. Such an alternative could include recruiting volunteers to help remove non-native, invasive, and poisonous species from state parks.
