Without warning, DC Council Chairman Phil Mendelson just snuck a new “wellness tax” into the DC budget. It would stick every active person in the DC with a 5.75% tax on purchases of all yoga and fitnesses classes/memberships. The final vote on the wellness tax is scheduled for next Tuesday, June 17th, so we have a short time to convince the everyone on the DC Council to reject this bad idea.
