The Hartford Area Development Corporation has requested to Washington County to address their concerns regarding congestion on Hwy 60 through Hartford.  The proposal being evaluated is to develop a State Hwy 60 Reliever Route north of Hartford and Slinger, WI.

Lobbied by a minority of businesses and the Hartford Area Development Corporation along with a few select board members who have personal interests; the proposed northern route bypasses major urban areas of business and commerce historically designated by the county, local townships and municipalities for commercial commerce. It not only leads traffic astray from a 4 lane state highway designated and expanded for such purposes as commerce but also threatens  to decimate our area's greatest assets of residential rural living and agricultural land. Voicing your opposition to the route is not a vote against business; it’s a vote in confidence for preserving our rural way of life along with keeping our commerce where it belongs.
