Not so well known as the Lake District or the ancient Yews of Wales, but, to us, this wood is equally important. Many of these trees are ancient too.
Tree Wardens in Coventry and Warwickshire have learnt how to put a financial value on threatened trees, based on the condition of the tree and its many assets. With the help of the person who designed the system, we recently valued just one of the biggest and oldest Small-leaved Lime coppices in our wood. It has 17 trunks. The figure we came up was £5 MILLION! Yes, unbelievable. Probably one of the most valuable trees in the country.
There are a lot more!
Please keep signing and sharing to save these trees.
