Woolston Rovers is a community rugby league club based at Monks Sports and Social club in Woolston Park, Warrington.

We cater for 300 children aged from 4 to 16 playing rugby league, taking part in healthy exercise and making friends for life.

Sadly, the last couple of seasons we have had to cancel a large number of fixtures and training sessions because the state of the pitches we use at Hillock Lane playing fields is unsafe. 

Due to the wet weather a huge area of the fields are flooded with some parts under up to 2 feet of water. This not only prevents rugby and football being played on these fields but represents a serious danger to public health and safety. I believe there to be a real risk of a tragic accident happening here.

I am petitioning Warrington Council to take action to pump away this water, making the fields safe for the public and then to look at contingencies for improving the drainage so this flooding does not happen again.
