A few years ago, the label 1972 reissued several Aphex Twin albums on vinyl. These reissues, while technically official and not bootlegs, were of mediocre quality and were pressed from the CD masters. In the same year, Warp Music made competing reissues of the Richard D. James Album and ...I Care Because You Do.

However, they did not reissue Selected Ambient Works, Volume II; unfortunately, this album was the one most in need of a Warp reissue, as the 1972 pressing—despite listing them on the packaging—omitted the two essential and popular bonus tracks from the original vinyl release, one of which is over ten minutes in length and is integral to the full experience of the album.

Selected Ambient Works, Volume II, Aphex Twin's second release, is one of the most important and influential releases that shaped modern ambient music, and may very well be Richard D. James' magnum opus. It is still a timeless release that has aged minimally, if at all, since its initial release over 21 years ago.

Moreover, the one way these original copies can be acquired is from secondhand sellers who charge absurd amounts of money, none of which will go to the artist who created the music.
