In 2025, Warner Brothers partnered with The Sphere in Las Vegas to launch an immersive Wizard of Oz experience. They also admitted to using AI to digitally replace the faces of two original Munchkin actors with dwarfism with the faces of corporate executives.

These were real actors who dedicated their craft to one of the most beloved films in history. They were not placeholders, and their contributions deserve respect. Replacing their faces erases their identities and continues a long history of Hollywood sidelining actors with dwarfism, and not properly crediting them. 

We call on Warner Brothers Discovery CEO David Zaslav, The Sphere, and all partners involved to:

• Update the immersive film to restore the original actors’ likenesses.
  Properly credit the actors by name within the experience.
  Commit to transparent acknowledgment of how AI is used in repurposing classic films.

This isn’t about being progressive, or cancelling people. It’s about acknowledging that every person who makes a film happen deserves the same respect as their peers. It’s about honoring the legacies of overlooked performers and ensuring that history is preserved and not rewritten.
