Re-release Ridley Scott's BLADE RUNNER to theaters worldwide in November of 2019!

The Issue

On June 25, 1982, Warner Brothers Studios, in conjunction with director Ridley Scott, producer Michael Deeley, and screenwriters Hampton Fancher and David Peoples introduced moviegoers to a future we'd never before imagined; a dystopian cityscape in which a cop is tasked with hunting down a fugitive band of synthetic humans known as Replicants, not knowing he's embarking on a journey that will change his life forever.  That futuristic city was Los Angeles, and the date:  November, 2019.  The film was Blade Runner, a cinematic work of art that would become one of the most inspirational science fiction films of the late 20th century and inspire filmmakers, writers, artists and even video game creators all over the world.

One year from the creation of this petition, November of 2019 will be upon us, and while it will look significantly different from what we saw in Blade Runner, that month and year will reside in a special place in the heart of the film's fans.

I propose that Warner Bros. make a concerted effort to re-introduce Ridley Scott's original vision of the future to the world through a re-release of the original Blade Runner, in its "Final Cut" edit, in early November of 2019, before the holiday movie season gets underway.  Furthermore, I propose that they release it for viewing on all "special-format" screens as well, including IMAX, so that old and new fans alike can experience this masterpiece of science-fiction cinema once again in the best visual quality possible.

I encourage Warner Bros. to pursue a full-scale marketing campaign in conjunction with this re-release:  trailers, promotional merchandise, and, of course, the re-release of Vangelis' majestic and amazing soundtrack in all currently available formats and remastered in the finest quality; it's a work of art all its own.

Alternately, I propose that, in lieu of a worldwide release if the idea should not be feasible, Warner Bros. at least consider partnering with Fathom Events to allow for special screenings of Blade Runner (the Final Cut) during the 1st half of November, 2019.  I would furthermore suggest a double-feature screening, pairing up Blade Runner with its equally amazing sequel, Blade Runner 2049.

Blade Runner fans: you're in this too!  Sign and promote this petition!  Reach out to Warner Bros. or Fathom Events to encourage a special re-release of Blade Runner for early November of 2019!

With the original release of Blade Runner, moviegoers had, like Rutger Hauer's Roy Batty from that film, "seen things you people wouldn't believe".  Warner Brothers, Ridley Scott, The Ladd Company, the Blade Runner Partnership:  please, let us once again see this stunning vision of the future on the month and year it was set and appreciate what might have been.
