Some Riles and more #Dadmosis! ���
This little scene takes place after Riley’s argument with Gluteus in The Brain. Ozzy brings her back to the agency to relax a bit, since school was out for her when she came up there to start with. He knew what it was like to be talked down to all the time, and mocked for being smarter than people thought. Not to mention LONELY. All Riley had for company for five years was her aunt and Angie. He felt for the kid.
So he shows her around the place, and opens up about his past to her. The young cell was amazed that he too lost his family and was alone most of his life before Drix and Maria came along (Leah comes later after this arc!). She then explains why she’s kept her emotions in: To be strong like her father. For her aunt. She smiles a bit as she expresses hope that he’d be proud. Ozzy agrees that he would, but also tells her that she doesn’t always have to do things alone (Irony, huh? ;3). She then gets sassy, telling him he should take his own advice, pointing out an early incident with him and Drix that involved once again landing on Spryman’s yacht. She then imitates his unmanly yell for effect.
Now playful, the detective grabs the kid in for a brotherly noogie, and the roughhousing commences! But through it all, Riley smiles happily.
Drix had just come back to the agency, and walks in on a sight that astonishes him: Osmosis Jones, number one germinator and everyone’s toughest macho man-cell, had a squirming but sweetly laughing Riley in his lap as he tickles her, them both wearing identical grins as they laughed together.
The cold pill quietly gushes over this scene warmly, so as not to disturb them just yet.
When he does, Ozzy freezes, looking at him nervously, then quickly stops, pointing at Riley and claiming she started it. The girl exclaims that was untrue, then playfully punches his arm, making him smirk in her direction. She smiles at him cheekily.
Drix didn’t need explaining. For he could see this girl was bringing out the rare soft side of his gritty partner.
Not that that was a bad thing.
