The Issue

DC Entertainment have been making films that they are calling the "DC Extended Universe". These films are: Man of Steel, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Suicide Squad. The most recent films when released have received horrible reviews. Soon after the reviews and release of these films there have been reports of Warner Brothers executives making last minute changes or edits to the film. For Batman v Superman, they edited over 40 minutes of film out of the theatrical release for reasons that some reports say "It was too long of a movie". These edits effected the overall flow of the film, making it seem choppy at some points and the story was not told the way it should have been. Once the ultimate cut was released (Zack Snyder's true vision of the film) the reviews were much more positive.

With Suicide Squad, The movie was basically finished when WB ordered millions of dollars worth of reshoots at the last minute to be added into the movie. This added stress to the cast and crew and the storytellers of the film. That stress may have messed up the chemistry and was not what David Ayer intended his movie to be like 100%. Early reviews for Suicide Squad have been very mixed, just like Batman v Superman.

This petition was created to try and persuade Warner Brothers and their executives from keeping their hands off of the DC Films creative process and putting more faith in their directors and screen writers they have chosen for these films. We the people understand that Warner Bros. is investing a LOT of money into these movies and they would like to see that money returned. Like a majority of business moves, sometimes you have to take a risk and gamble. The directors and screenwriters WB have picked so far have all had great movies on their resume's and have proved that they are very capable of making great films that can do well in the box office. I would love to see more DC films in the future and these last minute changes made by WB are effecting the final product in a very negative way. Please, WB. Put more faith in your directors and screen writers. Give these directors a budget and let them create their vision for these characters. The negative reviews are not a good look before the film even releases globally and could greatly effect the box office revenue. THESE FILMS WILL SELL THEMSELVES. If the film receives a bad review, let it be because the director and screen writers and producers didnt do a good job. Do not let it be because last minute changes had to be added to the film because someone "didn't think the audience would like this or that".

Basic reason for this petition: GIVE DC/Directors/Producers/Screenwriters their creative freedom and the money to produce these films. WB please take a seat and let Geoff Johns lead the DC Universe of film and collect your money!
