You signed this petition because it was important to you. Sadly despite our efforts, the Lanark county roads are being sprayed. Roadsides with only grass as far as you can see. A few roads that weren't sprayed last year have been adopted on a trial basis by a group of brave environmentally conscious folks. But if they don't get more volunteers out to help pull, snip, bag, and replant the County will deny them the adoption. They are working hard to meet a difficult deadline of July 3rd to get rid of 75% of the parsnip. Can you offer them a 2 hour shift of your time? They are also looking for donations of native plants such as asters, goldenrod, native monarda ( light purple) and lilies to be dropped off near Lanark Village. There will be a prize for the longest parsnip root dug! To generously volunteer to keep the poisons from these roads, please email friendsoflanarkcounty@gmail.com. By the way the wild parsnip plant is not that scary after all!!!
