Ward 7 Residents Demand Weekly Diaper Pick-Up for Health & Hygiene

We, the residents of Ward 7 in Windsor, Ontario, urge city council and our local representative to implement a weekly diaper collection program before the rollout of the new garbage schedule on  October 21, 2025

The shift to bi-weekly garbage pickup poses serious health and hygiene risks—especially for families with young children and daycare providers. In Ward 7, growing family neighborhoods and active childcare centers mean hundreds of diapers are disposed of weekly. Storing them for two weeks creates unsafe conditions: pests, unbearable odor, and bacterial exposure.

Proposed alternatives, like public diaper drop-off stations, are not practical for families without vehicles or daycares already operating at capacity.

We call on Ward 7 Councillor Angelo Marignani and Windsor City Council to:

• Introduce weekly diaper collection, or
• Offer exemptions for daycares and households with infants or medical needs.

Ward 7 deserves a safe, hygienic solution that respects family life and public health. Let's protect our community and demand meaningful change.
