We call on the people of China to bring an end to the barbaric and horrifically cruel practice of savagely torturing cats and dogs before cruely killing them to eat. We as humans have a responsiblity to act humanely and treat all animals with respect and dignity.

We urge China to consider the words of Gandhi who said "The Greatness of a Nation can be judged by the way it treats its animals"

We beg you to take action to stop this years June Festival (and all future festivals).

Personally while this festival continues we will whenever possible avoid purchasing and supporting Chinese business and their products and each one of us is committed to informing as many people as we can about this horrific festival and encourage them to take the same action.

There are many horrific images online which act as testimony of the unspeakable torture,pain and absolute agony these animals are subjected to. The images are just too graphic to publish and would cause any animal lover nightmares, so for this reason I have not included such images with this petition.

We urge China to take swift action in this matter.
