Campaign to make Garratt Lane 20 mph
Campaign to make Garratt Lane 20 mph
The Issue
Earlsfield Labour councillors campaign for a Safer, Cleaner, People-friendly Garratt Lane
· Garratt Lane is an important local shopping location. It is a residential street with 2,000 households living along it
· Air quality is measured as x3 over legal limits
· 20 mph speed limit will create an environment that boosts local business, lowers noise and air pollution and encourages longer dwell time on our high street
. Other residential streets are 20 mph, bringing benefits to residents and businesses due to a calmer environment
. In the early morning and late evening, speeds along Garratt Lane have been measured reaching over 50 mph, creating excessive noise and air pollution for the residents living on, and in the streets off Garratt Lane
We, the undersigned, call upon Wandsworth Council to urgently consult with residents and businesses about creating a 20 mph speed limit along the entire length of Garratt Lane.
