Wandsworth Council: provide public toilets on Tooting Bec Common

This petition had 302 supporters

We request the provision of extra public toilets on Tooting Bec Common by Wandsworth Council, preferably on more than one location, given the common's large area.

The lack of facilities means that people end up urinating where they shouldn't.  There are many children using the common, they also end up having to pee on bushes and potentially run the risk being exposed to adults using bushes as a toilet.

Although there are 'hidden' public toilets inside Tooting Bec Athletics track, these aren't clearly signed, many people aren't even aware of it and the only way to know is through word of mouth.  Furthermore, the access is through turnstile gate - I couldn't get through with a pram.

Given the size of the common there is also a need for provision in other areas, for example at the Triangle playground end.

The single disabled toilet at the cafe isn't a public toilet and was not usable all of the May Bank Holiday weekend due to a faulty handle.  The following weekend it had an issue with the drains.

Please sign the petition and forward it to local residents and to Tooting Bec Common visitors.
