Walton County, GA is one of the only counties left in the metro Atlanta area that allows 24/7 unattended chaining (tethering) of dogs. Thousands of dogs spend their lives in this county on extremely heavy chains with very little care. They are easy to spot with 5 gallon buckets of dirty water (if any at all). These dogs are outside in blazing heat, sub-freezing cold and horrible storms. They are usually covered in fleas and ticks, flies bite their ears, they have horrible skin infections and usually have internal parasites. Most live in a small circle of mud that is covered in feces and trash. We must make our county a better place for animals, the problem has gotten worse in the past 2 years.
