A lot of people are understandably very disappointed with the new Genie Plus system arriving at Walt Disney World Florida and Disneyland California, that is replacing the old FastPass/MaxPass system. I understand the last year or so have made Disney resorts lose a lot of profit, due to COVID but Disney holidays cost an extortionate amount of money as it is for all guests, with food, drink, and merchandise. A lot of people will be very much looking forward to a holiday after the last year we have had due to the coronavirus outbreak, and a lot of us feel like we are being conned by the Disney company as they have already removed complimentary free transport to and from the airport and complimentary magic bands for those staying on site.

I personally hope that, given the already large number of complaints Disney has gotten, and if this petition, alongside all the others, will get Disney to at least rethink their decision, as we all know a lot of Disney fans will be so happy if they restored all the free/complimentary things!

A lot of people rightfully feel, also, that with this new system, Disney are trashing the name of Robin Williams, who was the original voice of Genie in the 1992 Aladdin film. Robin only took the role of Genie if Disney agreed to not use Genie's name for any extra profit. So Disney agreed to this, and honoured his wishes up until this point, it seems, as now they are using Genie as one of the new Disney site mascots and using him as a way to generate even more unnecessary profit. 

People also believe that the Disney company are also trashing the name of Walt Disney himself with this new feature, as money was never Walt's primary focus in creating the Disney brand and the parks. He just wanted a place where families could freely enjoy themselves, in a place that was completely sectioned off from the rest of the world, so fans could forget completely about the outside world surrounding the resorts. Now it seems that guests will be staring at their smartphones a lot more than before, especially since you can only book Genie+ reservations at 7am on the morning of each and every day; they can no longer book FastPass selections a certain number of days in advance, which I think will prove a lot more difficult for people who want to experience certain rides and attractions at whichever time of day, and also substantially more difficult for people who want to experience the parks and certain attractions at rope drop. Disney holidays are supposed to be days you can enjoy whatever you like and not have to worry about setting any extra alarms to try and snag a FastPass for something. 

I feel like I will get some backlash for this by saying this is all optional and no one has to pay for this if they don't want to, which I completely understand, but I also feel like the majority of guests won't have much of a choice to unfairly pay Disney a ton more unnecessary cash just to ride a ride, which they really want to do, given the typical standby wait times of some attractions out there.

If we get enough signatures on all the petitions out there combined, maybe, just MAYBE, Disney will reconsider!
