In 1995 the cult classic Disney film "A Goofy Movie" was released in theaters. It has been over 20 years since the movie came out and since then the following for it has grown tremendously. Additionally ever since the 20th anniversary in 2015 merchandise for the film has come out ranging from backpacks to Funko Vinyl figures. Disney is well aware of the film's popularity in this day and age.

However, the only modern home video release of the film is a fullscreen DVD from the Walt Disney Gold collection in the early 2000's. No widescreen release has ever been made. With how popular this movie is it is shocking that they have yet to do a blu-ray release of the film, with the 2000 sequel "Extremely Goofy Movie" attached in the style of their recent blu-ray releases such as Hunchback of Notre Dame and Mulan, which included their direct-to-video sequels.

The fans would love an HD release of this film and doing so would sell very well. Goofy is one of Disney's flagship characters and it is very odd to see Disney neglecting the franchise by not giving it a proper home video release.
