Holding Walsh Jesuit High School accountable for sexual assault allegation

The Issue

A student at Walsh Jesuit High School has recently been accused of sexual assault upon an eighteen-year-old male who was documented to be blacked out to the point of unconsciousness at a party over three weeks ago. At this time none of the students involved have been expelled and no felony charges have been filed in response to the allegation at hand. Many but not all students present at the party witnessed this event and there is documented evidence of this eighteen-year-old male being assaulted anally by a Purell bottle. The only information the Walsh community has heard about this incident is through a vague email sent out by the President of the administration. He concluded the email by promoting a yearly fundraiser which stated, “Thank you for your attention and cooperation in this and all matters and we look forward to good things this week leading up to the Warrior Gala! Go Warriors!” Clearly, the school is not taking this issue very seriously as it seems as if they are trying to brush it under the rug so word of this incident does not get out. It is often hard for students to have their voices be heard especially in a situation as serious as this one. Accountability needs to be taken and signing this petition will be one step closer to reaching it. Thank you for taking the time to read about this disheartening and infuriating situation.
