Walmart to accept Dogecoin as a online form of payment.
Why this petition matters
Walmart should accept Dogecoin as an online form of payment. Walmart’s goal is to provide low cost products to customers. If they accept Dogecoin as a new and progressive payment option, then that can work to their advantage. This explains that by adding Dogecoin as an accepted cryptocurrency payment options, Walmart would become one of the first mainstream retailers and join a rapidly growing list of merchants that are adapting to fit the needs of modern consumers. Walmart would have an amazing opportunity to be the first mainstream retailer to take advantage of the digital currency that can provide a fee-free, or fee-minimal place to store wealth that can be spent, and, if needed, easily converted to cash.
Walmart should position itself to benefit from the growing popularity of Dogecoin. Much like Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin, Dogecoin has become the popular cryptocurrency token people use to buy, spend and trade. This token was introduced in 2013 and has been used primarily as a tipping system on Reddit and Twitter to reward the creation or sharing of quality content. Dogecoin is also unique for some other features. For instance, it is powered by Blockchain technology with 1-minute intervals. This means Walmart can update customers' Dogecoin transactions way faster than when customers pay using other online payment methods. Walmart does not currently accept several cryptocurrencies as a form of payment, like Bitcoin, Ethereum, Litecoin, and others. Accepting Dogecoin would be innovative and seen by the millions of people as a supportive step to the low-income households that find banking expensive. This may be seen as an alternative way to handle wealth at an institution that can supply the majority of their day-to-day financial and product needs.
Dogecoin has grown to a fully-fledged coin accepted by many merchants. It has
one of the lowest transaction fees, which is great for our customers.
Tesla CEO Elon Musk posted several tweets on social media that Dogecoin is his
favorite coin. Recently Elon Musk has tweeted a digital magazine cover featuring a dog meme in apparent support of the digital currency, Dogecoin. As a result- Dogecoin has surpassed its all-time high recently, growing by 420 % in a matter of one day, reaching a market cap of more than $4 billion,
according to NASDAQ stock market data. However, $DOGE is not a stock
( https://www.nasdaq.com/market-activity/cryptocurrency/doge ). This is a great opportunity for Walmart.
