A spayed and neutered feral cat colony in Chandler, Arizona has been living in a Walmart shopping center for several years. The cats are fed and managed by members of a nonprofit organization working to end the overpopulation and suffering of homeless animals. Members who care for these animals have learned that Walmart has began negotations with a cruel trap and remove company. The company eliminates and exterminates the cats. Please ask Walmart to be part of the solution and not the problem!
Note: Trap and Euthanize does not work as it creates a vacuum effect and once the cats are gone, new cats will just take over the site. Managed colonies are colonies that are cared for by one or more care-takers who feed the cats and take care of any medical problems. Cats who are in controlled Trap-Neutered-and-Returned colonies are the solution to overpopulation, not extermination.
Walmart, Please Do Not Trap and Kill Managed Feral Cat Colonies!
Trap and Euthanize does not work as it creates a vacuum effect and once the cats are gone, new cats will just take over the site. This turn over will never stop - it has been proven time and again.
Managed colonies are colonies that are cared for by one or more care-takers who feed the cats and take care of any medical problems. They are usually not a nuisance to others, and they have all been Trap-Neutered-and-Returned to live out their lives.
Trapping and killing these cats is a complete waste of time and tax payer dollars that have funded the TNR program.
