So far we have already reached 600 supporters! I want to thank you all for this. Unfortunately, yesterday my fish that I rescued from Walmart passed away around 10am. I had him for less than 24 hours. Of course I was crying because I felt so bad for the poor baby. I took him to Walmart to get a refund. While I was there I attempted to convince them to give me their last betta for free since my fish passed so quickly. They gave me the refund but said they were unable to give me a free fish. I wasn't going to buy their last fish unless they gave him to me for free. They said that they will take my fish to dispose of him and I told them that I will do it myself. The man looked confused (by the way, there was yet again no trained fish specialist there. I thought they couldn't dispose of fish without a specialist there, according to them). Just because my fish passed doesn't mean I'm going to give him back to the heartless people that put him in the condition he was in. I am going to take care of him myself. The tank that I have seen dead fish stuck to the filter multiple times had more fish stuck to it. The day before there were only 8 dead fish but yesterday there were 25. Somehow they managed to miss 25 dead fish when they went to feed them. They had just fed them before I got there so I know they opened the tank lid. Since I had already set up a brand new tank for the fish, I decided to get another fish but from Petsmart. As I walked through the store I examined the state of their fish. They had over 30 tanks of various fish, but I saw 0 dead fish and there were no fish stuck to the filters either. All of their bettas were in great condition. They all had clean water and some were just fed. Walmart had 3 bettas: one dead, one really sick, and one in okay condition. Petsmart had over 40 bettas and they were all in very good shape. I found myself a twin tail half moon betta. He is gorgeous. I named him Astro. He has already lasted longer than the fish I got from Walmart. I just wanted to open everyone's eyes a little more to how ridiculous this is. I left Walmart furious and crying yesterday. This needs to be stopped soon. I can't imagine a small child wanting a fish from Walmart and it dying the next day. That is all for the update. Keep sharing and telling others to sign this petition. I contacted walmarts customer service to complain. Hopefully that helps the situation a little more. I hope everyone has a good day! (The picture attached is my new fish Astro).
