Thank you all for spreading the word and signing the petition. I made another trip to Walmart last night to check up on their fish. There was a dead betta in a cup surrounded by brown water. I brought this to the attention of the manager. She said that the person who restocks the fish takes care of the sick and dead ones. So pretty much she told me that once a week they will actually take care of their fish. I had taken a betta into my care last night. He was in brownish water with particles floating around him. He was very sick so I negotiated with the employees to let me have him for cheaper. I wasn't going to pay full price for a sick fish especially not from them. I'm hoping he will get healthier and be himself again. He's in a good environment now. All I know is he will live longer and happier in his new environment. I looked at walmarts procedures for taking care of their fish. For the larger tanks with 30+ fish they are supposed to put a SMALL pinch of flakes ONCE a day. That's not enough to make sure all of the fish are properly fed. They also had a caution on the sign saying not to overfeed them. Trust me, you won't have to worry about that with such small portions. Yet again, thank you to everyone who has already supported this and are continuing to spread the word. Attached is a picture of my new fish and that's the cup I bought him in. Poor guy.
