A recent discovery of mine is Walmart mistreats their live fish. I have looked into this problem to ensure that it has happened on multiple occasions. Cases of this mistreatment have been documented on the internet since 2012. In my recent visit to Walmart (3/20/2016) I noticed in one of the lower tanks that there was a pile of over 20 dead fish near the filter. Some appeared to have been dead for over a week. A lot of people have found this at their local Walmarts all over the country. This petition is to stop Walmart from selling live fish if they can not take care of them properly. They do not properly train anyone to take care of their live fish. Reasons to sign the petition: Walmart has multiple dead fish in a tank with live fish. They do not allow ample water for the betta fish. They do not train anyone to take care of the fish. They allow the tanks to go days without inspection. No one has been able to change this about Walmart in the past (or have not cared to do anything about it). They shouldn't sell something they can't take care of. It is animal cruelty. The fish are live animals regardless of how much they cost. The fish deserve a better living environment. It would cause sadness/upset from children who see multiple dead fish in a tank. It is not fair to the fish. I want to thank everyone who decides to sign this petition. I am studying to become a marine biologist so this kind of fish cruelty makes me upset and uncomfortable. Please help to stop this kind of cruelty from Walmart. Thank you.
