The past few days have shown that Kenora is not immune to COVID-19. We are starting to see some community spread here and with restrictions starting to be lifted, this could be a recipe for disaster. We need to be doing everything we can to prevent it from getting out of control. 

Studies have show that wearing a mask can greatly reduced the risk of spreading COVID-19 (when worn properly and coupled with proper hand hygiene). This is also in line with reccomendations from Health Canada. While most of the stores here are doing a good job at restricting numbers and implementing social distancing protocols the one piece of the puzzle that's missing in many of them is mandatory masks. With recent events of potential spread of COVID-19 from a person shopping in No Frills and Walmart this further demonstrates the need for mandatory masks in these places.

Let's put some pressure on these places to implement a mandatory mask policy for shoppers (and while they are at it, mandatory hand sanitizer before entering wouldn't hurt either)
