We are a small town who relies on our local Walmart. Shutting this store down will put many good people out of jobs and our citizens out of their needs. Not everyone here is able or can not afford to make a drive to the next closest store (20+ miles away each direction) and even the ones being relocated at different stores may not be able to make that drive. There are so many disabled and eldery people who just cant get to the next town. When the weather gets bad, not everyone can get to Kennett, Dyersburg, Sikeston, or Blytheville to get the neccesary items we need in case of long power outages or severe weather. Having one so close is a necessity for our community! While we do have local Dollar General's and a Fred's, there are many things that are more in budget and only found at Walmart. Closing this store will take a toll on our little community. Walmart is a great asset towards our county and local taxes, it's where we go to buy our kids school uniforms, it has a pharmacy open daily and has later hours to accommodate everyone, it's where we go for projects and gifts for all holidays. We are Bootheel strong, let's work together to get this signed by as many people as we can and get to the right people so that we may keep our local Walmart!
