Walgreens: Stop commercials showing babies in dangerous baby carriers facing outwards

The Issue

Aside from the fact that these sorts of carriers shown are not ergonomic for babies, babies should NEVER be worn facing out. This poses a high risk for asphyxiation. Wearing a baby facing outwards on your back is NEVER safe or recommended.

What is Positional Asphyxiation?
Positional asphyxia, is also known as
postural asphyxia. It is a form of asphyxia which occurs when someone's
position prevents them from breathing adequately.
In newborns this means the airway is kinked due to baby’s heavy head resting with his chin on his little chest. Carrying your baby in the manner as the commercials does not allow a parent to properly monitor their baby and provides no support for a babies head, especially if the baby falls asleep.

Forward facing carries; do not support your babies legs, places pressure on your babies spine and groin, may overstimulate your baby, makes it hard or near impossible for the wearer to communicate with baby and read their cues, does not support their head or neck, makes it harder for a babies temperature to regulate, throws off your babies center of gravity and is more uncomfortable for the wearer.

Please sign this petition and tell Walgreens to pull the commercials. Unfortuntately many parents see these commercials and are wearing their babies this way. We need this to stop before someone's baby dies or is harmed.
