Get Walmart To Take Care Of The Fish In Their Stores!
The Issue
Ever since I can remember, every Walmart I've ever gone to, I've always decided to gander at the fish. From children to teenagers, the pet isle with plenty of beautiful aquatic creatures has been visited by many. However, these people don't always leave satisfied. In fact, not many customers have been anything besides horrified as they left this department. Fish who are so hungry they resort to eating each other, dirty tanks, fish who got stuck to the filter and couldn't swim away, decaying fish bodies littering the tanks. These conditions are beyond inhumane, they're a nightmare. I decided to write this petition for a girl I know who purchased a fish from Walmart for her three year old daughter, only to have it fall in half. No exaduration, her fish had been decaying from poor treatment in the store and literally fell into two pieces. Could you imagine explaining that to your children? A three year old girl? They leave Betta fish in cups that they never clean for days to sell them faster and to avoid buying simple tanks for them because "they're too expensive".
People need to explain hoards of decaying or slowly dying fish to their children everyday in a grocery store because Walmart won't simply have their workers take the time to properly care for th fish they want to sell. Make the difference? Help us bring this to Walmarts attention and help us push them to take action for these poor defenseless creatures. Nothing deserves to suffer in this manner. These fish are sitting in their own graves and can't do anything about it. Photo isn't mine, I'm returning to Walmart today to take pictures of how much worse it is today.
