Petition To:

Petition By: Dheeraj SJ, Advocate, Karnataka High Court, and the Undersigned 1 Crore Concerned Citizens of India

Bengaluru, June 2025: 11 Souls Lost to Systemic Failure – Without Fearless Intervention, Will True Accountability Ever Emerge?

The RCB victory celebration on June 4th became a day of national mourning. Eleven cherished lives were brutally extinguished in a stampede born from what appears to be catastrophic negligence and potentially, shocking prioritization of political optics over public safety.

While initial inquiries (CID, Judicial Commission) and some actions like police suspensions have begun, we must ask the hard question: Will these processes, operating within the existing system, truly hold everyone accountable, especially if responsibility points to the highest echelons of power?

This is why the voice and intervention of Advocate K.V. Dhananjay are so critical. As he powerfully said:

"The swift suspension of select police officers... is a premature verdict that sidesteps due process and deeper questions of responsibility. A truly 'meaningful inquiry' requires an environment completely free of executive influence."

He further questioned if the "...simultaneous RCB felicitation at Vidhana Soudha, arranged by the CM & Dy.CM, impacted decisions at Chinnaswamy stadium... Were stadium gates kept shut or mismanaged to divert... fans... towards the CM/Dy.CM's event...?"

Unless a lawyer with Mr. K.V. Dhananjay's demonstrated courage, independence, and willingness to challenge executive overreach steps in, there is a grave risk that the full truth will be buried, and ultimate accountability for those in power will remain elusive. Routine inquiries often stop short of confronting entrenched political interests.

I, Dheeraj SJ, Advocate, share these profound concerns. Mr. Dhananjay, known for his impactful pro bono (free) legal battles, is the advocate we need. He is willing to initiate Public Interest Litigations (PILs) and other necessary petitions before the Courts to:

1.       Secure Comprehensive Justice and Dignified Compensation for every victim.

2.       Unmask Every Individual and Systemic Failure: Crucially, to investigate whether stadium safety was deliberately compromised to amplify the CM/Dy.CM's event, and to ensure those behind such decisions face consequences.

3.       Demand Iron-Clad Reforms to ensure public safety is inviolable.

To guarantee a probe free from executive shadow, Mr. Dhananjay has asserted that for a truly impartial inquiry where witnesses can speak freely—especially if testimony implicates decisions linked to the CM/Dy.CM's event—the heads of government, CM Siddaramaiah & Dy.CM D.K. Shivakumar, must step down from their positions until the enquiry concludes. This, he states, is "not an admission of guilt, but an essential act to guarantee the integrity & impartiality of the #BengaluruTragedy probe."

But Mr. K.V. Dhananjay wants to see unequivocal, substantial public demand for this level of fearless justice. That is why he has set the condition of 1 CRORE (10 MILLION) SIGNATURES. Your signature is not just a number; it's a powerful mandate for him to act.

Why 1 Crore Signatures? It is our collective roar, declaring:

·         WE DEMAND A LAWYER WHO WON'T BACK DOWN: We need K.V. Dhananjay's specific brand of fearless advocacy because without it, justice for the powerful often remains a mirage.

·         SUPPORT FOR UNCOMPROMISING CONDITIONS: We back his call for an inquiry environment free of executive pressure, including the necessity for the CM and Dy.CM to step aside for its duration.

·         NO MORE IMPUNITY: The people of India demand that if political expediency led to these deaths, those responsible, no matter how high, must face the law.

The pursuit of justice for the 11 lives lost cannot be a quiet affair. It requires a movement.

WE URGE YOU – THE CITIZENS OF INDIA – TO JOIN THIS CRUCIAL FIGHT:

1.       SIGN THIS PETITION: Tell K.V. Dhananjay that 1 Crore Indians stand with him and his courageous conditions for a truly impartial probe.

2.       SHARE THIS MESSAGE WITH BURNING URGENCY: Ensure every Indian understands what's at stake and why this specific intervention, led by this advocate, under these conditions, is vital.

3.       MOBILIZE YOUR COMMUNITIES: Let this become a people's demand for a level of justice rarely seen but desperately needed.

Let our 1 Crore voices provide the unshakeable foundation for Advocate K.V. Dhananjay to launch the necessary legal arsenal—PILs and other petitions—to expose the truth and secure justice that is both profound and transformative.

Human lives must never be pawns in political games. Demand accountability that starts at the top.

Sign Now. Fuel the Fight for Fearless Justice with K.V. Dhananjay!

Sincerely,

Dheeraj SJ, Advocate, Karnataka High Court
