Early voting site in the Talley Student Union at NC State University
The Issue
We at NC State University are petitioning the Wake County Board of Elections to have the Talley Student Union at North Carolina State University serve as an early voting site for the 2016 election. As the largest school in North Carolina with around 34,000 students, they should be provided the opportunity to vote on their own campus. Many students have busy schedules and are unable to commute to a distant voting location.
Students and surrounding residents voted at the Pullen Community Center on March 15th for the North Carolina primaries and many reported wait times up to 2 hours as of 6pm. By moving the voting site to NC State's campus, we can effectively reduce these extensive wait times.
Please add your name and voice your desire for students to be provided a convenient location to practice their right to vote.
