Keep the Classic Wabash College "W"

Keep the Classic Wabash College "W"
The Issue
We oppose the changing of the Wabash College "W."
The Wabash "W" is an iconic symbol for all Wabash Men and their families. It is a classic symbol that reminds all men who have studied in the halls of Wabash of what they belonged to when they were at school--a community of brothers striving for knowledge and virtue (Scientiae et Virtuti).
Changing one of the most recognizable symbols of our school is not one that we can accept. It does not reflect the classic liberal arts aspect of our institution. The new font being used to represent Wabash College looks juvenile. It does not reflect the serious way that Wabash men feel about their school, or what Wabash is. Wabash is an institution that is grounded in the academic traditions of American liberal arts education, based on personal responsibility and self-improvement. We do not believe that the newly stylized font reflects this.
We want our "W" back. We want Wabash College to be true to itself and to its students, alumni, and families.
