Petition updateVoting Rights for ALL in Unincorporated Greenburgh

Vote to oust ineffective representation!

The issue of Edgemont Incorporation has not gone away.  Although the Edgemont Incorporation Committee has not yet filed a petition, their ability to incorporate was enshrined in legislation by the State Legislature in 2023 and 2024.  The initial legislation was sponsored in the Assembly by Greenburgh's current representative MaryJane Shimsky.  In so doing, Mrs Shimsky betrayed her constituents in Unincorporated Greenburgh.

It is once again time to elect our Assembly representative.  Former Assemblyman Tom Abinanti is challenging Mrs. Shimskiy in the Democratic Primary.  If elected, he will work to enact legislation that will remove the Edgemont exemption from the Village Incorporation law and to pass legislation that, should a referendum on incorporation be held, makes all residents of Unincorporated Greenburgh eligible to vote on the matter.  He previously served in the Assembly for 12 years and was a highly successful legislator. HIs reelection will be a strong message to our representatives that the needs of their constituents must be addressed!

Early voting for the Democratic primary starts on Saturday June 15 and runs through Sunday June 23.  Primary day is Tuesday June 25.

IF YOU ARE A REGISTERED  DEMOCRAT IN NY ASSEMBLY DISTRICT 92 (Greenburgh, Mount Pleasant and Northwest Yonkers) PLEASE GO TO THE POLLS AND VOTE IN THE PRIMARY ELECTION FOR TOM ABINANTI FOR NY ASSEMBLY

Thank you!
