Petition updateVoters want real choices: End plurality voting and the "lesser of two evils"!

Great news! This will be easier than I thought!

Turns out we don't NEED a Constitutional amendment to end plurality voting for the president! We could tweak the idea behind the National Popular Vote Interstate Compact by adding in a new vote counting method. If states with 270 Electoral College votes passed legislation saying they would award their electors to whomever wins the national popular vote as counted by X system (range voting, instant runoff, etc.), effective once you reach 270 EC votes, then you've got it. For the states that haven't yet changed their ballots to reflect the new voting system, you'd just count their first choice into the totals, so those states would quickly want to adopt the new system so their voters could have more of a say in the outcome. Much easier! But still requiring 270 votes worth of state legislatures. Do any of you have contacts in state legislatures whom you think would be open to this idea, either NeverTrumpers or disaffected Democrats? I'll be reaching out to the Colorado Democrats (who already have Instant Runoff on their party platform), and the Republicans (who were strongly anti-Trump). This makes me even more excited to push for this reform this year, while the issue is hot in people's minds! Seth VW
