To the Citizens of Wingate and Those Who Represent Us:

We, the undersigned residents of Wingate, NC, are issuing this petition as a formal vote of no confidence in the current leadership of our town:

•Mayor Gary Hamill
•Town Manager Brad Sellers
•Assistant Town Manager Karen Wingo
•Councilman Johnny Lowery

Their continued failure to prioritize transparency, public input, and community well-being has left many of us deeply concerned about the direction of our town’s leadership.

Our Concerns Include:

•Silencing public input and ignoring petitions surrounding the future of the Wingate Police Department.

•Choosing private agendas and personal loyalty over public safety and trust.

•Failing to acknowledge or respond to the valid concerns of residents, business owners, and town employees.

•Allowing town employees—especially police officers—to be mistreated or shut down when voicing concerns on behalf of the community.

•Repeatedly displaying dismissive and unprofessional conduct toward those they were elected or appointed to serve.

Our Message Is Simple:

We no longer trust this leadership team to act in the best interest of Wingate. We call on the Town Council to acknowledge this loss of public confidence and take immediate steps to investigate, hold accountable, or replace those who are no longer serving with integrity.

This petition is more than words—it’s a clear message from the people of Wingate:

We deserve leadership that listens, protects, and respects its citizens.
