Our current school principal has repeatedly demonstrated a lack of effective communication skills, poor handling of school safety issues, disregard for student well-being, limited interaction with students, and inadequate support for staff. All children deserve a principal who will foster a positive and safe learning environment. Research indicates that principals play a significant role in shaping the school climate, directly impacting students' academic performance (Source: Education Policy Analysis Archives). 

Moreover, safety cannot be compromised. A 2018 report from the Indicators of School Crime and Safety revealed that students perform better academically in a safe environment (Source: National Center for Education Statistics). Therefore, the school principal should have competent skills to implement effective safety measures and strategies.

Finally, successful schools are characterized by strong, positive relationships between the principal, students, and staff, which is crucial for sustaining high academic performance (Source: New Zealand Ministry of Education). Our current principal’s lack of interaction with students and staff does not meet this criterion.

Next Steps
Given the above, we believe it is necessary to find a new principal and/or superintendent who will excel in these areas. Sign this petition to support the search for a better school principal, enhancing the quality of our educational environment.
