Montrose County School Board Members, 

We, the undersigned parents, community members, and stake holders of Montrose County, wish to express our dissatisfaction with the current Montrose County School District (MCSD) superintendent Dr. Carrie Stephenson. We write this letter to express our “Vote of No Confidence”. We understand the severity and consequences of this decision and do not express our opinion lightly. 

Nearly every day, we entrust MCSD with that which is most precious to us, children. The children of our community are our first priority and we truly believe that they are the future. As such, we expect that they are in the care of an organization that has a leader that puts them first and foremost. 

In the time that she has been in her position, it has become evident; Dr. Stephenson does not respect the importance of her role or the influence she has in our community. Further, her recent actions have shown a lack of willingness to change, which makes moving forward near impossible. She has created a toxic environment for both our children and the MCSD staff, overall morale in the district is low, and ultimately this is not what we want for our children! 

As constituents of the community of Montrose County, the MCSD School Board has an obligation to represent our voice in matters regarding education. Therefore, we the undersigned, are officially voting “No Confidence” in the leadership of MCSD and request that the School Board take all necessary action to remove Dr. Carrie Stephenson from her position as superintendent. This is what is right for the children of the community!

Nosotros, los padres firmantes, miembros de la comunidad y partes interesadas del condado de Montrose, deseamos expresar nuestra insatisfacción con la actual superintendente del Distrito Escolar del Condado de Montrose (MCSD), la Dra. Carrie Stephenson. Escribimos esta carta para expresar nuestro “Voto de Confianza”. Entendemos la gravedad y las consecuencias de esta decisión y no expresamos nuestra opinión a la ligera.

Casi a diario, confiamos a MCSD lo que es más preciado para nosotros, los niños. Los niños de nuestra comunidad son nuestra primera prioridad y realmente creemos que ellos son el futuro. Como tal, esperamos que estén al cuidado de una organización que tenga un líder que los ponga en primer lugar.

En el tiempo que lleva en su cargo se ha hecho evidente; La Dra. Stephenson no respeta la importancia de su papel ni la influencia que tiene en nuestra comunidad. Además, sus acciones recientes han demostrado una falta de voluntad para cambiar, lo que hace que avanzar sea casi imposible. Ella ha creado un ambiente tóxico tanto para nuestros niños como para el personal de MCSD, la moral general en el distrito es baja y, al final, ¡esto no es lo que queremos para nuestros niños!

Como constituyentes de la comunidad del condado de Montrose, el consejo Escolar de MCSD tiene la obligación de representar nuestra voz en asuntos relacionados con la educación. Por lo tanto, nosotros, los firmantes, votamos oficialmente "NoConfianza" en el liderazgo de MCSD y solicitamos que el consejo Escolar tome todas las medidas necesarias para remover a la Dra. Carrie Stephenson de su puesto como superintendente. ¡Esto es lo que es correcto para los niños de la comunidad!
