Vote of No Confidence: Demand the Resignation of School Board President Melinda Anderson
The parents, taxpayers, and students of Temecula are suffering under a school board president who actively silences public voices, suppresses board member debate, and prioritizes political power over student needs. Parents who take time out of their lives to engage in the democratic process are mocked and dismissed. Board members who challenge her have their microphones cut off mid-meeting. Public input is being systematically pushed to the end of meetings, while union leaders are given prime speaking time. Instead of representing the people, Melinda Anderson has worked to shut them out.
What is at stake?
If this pattern of censorship and suppression continues, parents will lose their ability to influence their children’s education. The flag policy remains rescinded. The parental notification policy is still in limbo. And instead of leading, Melinda Anderson is stalling progress by shifting responsibility to the unions—a group the voters never elected to make these decisions. Worse, she is now attempting to censor board members on social media, demanding they remove “TVUSD” from their accounts, further limiting public accountability.
This is not democracy. This is not leadership. If we do nothing, our voices will continue to be silenced, our policies will be dictated behind closed doors, and our school board will operate as an unchecked, undemocratic entity.
Why is now the time to act?
Melinda Anderson has shown, time and time again, that she does not respect the people she was elected to serve. From calling public comments “piss and vinegar,” to ordering staff to “cut the mic” on fellow board members, to maneuvering herself into the presidency without public confidence, she has abused her position and betrayed the values she claimed to represent.
We cannot wait any longer to hold her accountable. If she is not removed, she will continue her anti-transparency, anti-parent, anti-democracy leadership.
🔴 We demand an immediate vote of no confidence.
🔴 We demand her resignation as school board president.
