Kingstowne Has Had Enough Development. Stop the Next One.

If you are tired of watching the Kingstowne and Franconia area get developed parcel by parcel, this is the petition to sign and the meeting to attend.

We have learned that residents are called in too late into the formal process to voice options largely after a site plan has been approved. (Hence why developments like Rudys still go through despite opposition )

Now we have an opportunity to apply pressure earlier in the process.

We are asking you to:

Kingstowne has absorbed project after project.

More development.
More clearing.
More traffic.
More infrastructure.
More green space disappearing.

And now, here we go again.

A developer wants Fairfax County to approve 76 residential units on roughly 11 acres at Beulah Street and Steinway Street.

To build it, approximately **7.7 acres of existing forest - nearly six football fields of woods- would  be cleared and hundreds of residents, cars and density would be added **

And yet  another piece of this community disappearing for yet another development.

ENOUGH.

How Much More Development Are Residents Expected to Accept?

Many of us chose Kingstowne and Franconia because it offered something increasingly difficult to find this close to Washington:

Tree-lined neighborhoods. Woods between communities. Green buffers. Wildlife. Room to breathe.

But little by little, parcel by parcel, that character is being chipped away.

In five years our area has already lost 1,736 acres of tree cover to land development — roughly 1,300 football fields.

Now nearly six more football fields of woods could disappear here.

Once they are cleared, they are gone.

But  this is about more than trees.

It is about whether the people who already live here have any meaningful say in how much development their community is expected to absorb.

Residents Are Already Saying No

The Kingstowne Residential Owners Corporation, representing roughly 5,300 homes, voted 6–0 to oppose this application as presented.

Island Creek has opposed it.

Hundreds of neighbors have spoken out.

Residents have packed community meetings.

Yet neighbors have been told by a representative involved in the Franconia District land-use process that Supervisor Rodney Lusk STILL intends  to support this development.

So Supervisor Lusk, residents deserve an answer:

 Who are you ACTUALLY working for?

A 5,300-home association votes 6–0 NO. A neighboring HOA says NO. Residents show up. Hundreds speak out.

What about this proposal outweighs the concerns of the people who already live here?

How much more development is Kingstowne expected to absorb?

How much more green space should disappear before preserving the character of this community matters?

Supervisor Lusk, we are asking you directly:

We have absorbed enough.
