VOTE 'NO' ON LEE CO'S TECHNOLOGY AND DATA CENTER DISTRCT

VOTE 'NO' ON LEE CO'S TECHNOLOGY AND DATA CENTER DISTRCT
The Issue
Our rural communities deserve thoughtful growth that protects our land, water, roads, and quality of life. Please take a moment to sign the online
petition opposing the proposed zoning amendment that would allow large-scale data centers to be built in Lee County, GA!
Data centers are often presented as “economic development,” but the reality for rural areas is very different:
- They consume enormous amounts of electricity and water resources
- They create very few long-term local jobs once construction is complete
- They can increase noise pollution from cooling systems and backup generators
- They may reduce nearby property values and change the character of our communities
- Tax incentives given to data centers can shift the burden onto local residents\
- Energy demand from data centers can contribute to higher utility costs and stress on the power grid
- They provide limited benefits to small local businesses compared to other forms of development
Tell the Lee County Planning Commission and Board of Commissioners that we should prioritize development that truly benefits local families, farmers, small businesses, and future generations and not projects that industrialize our countryside while offering little return to residents.
Please stand with our community and sign the petition today. Every signature matters.
Make your voice heard by attending the Planning Commission and County Commission meetings, specifically the public hearings!
