EU Referendum: Put Nigel Farage on the cross-party Brexit negotiation team

The Issue

We, the undersigned who have exercised our democratic right to bring the United Kingdom out of the European Union, strongly request that Nigel Farage be present on the negotiation team for the Brexit cross-party talks on post-referendum actions.

Mr Farage has dedicated more than 20 years of his life and livelihood to fighting for greater British representation in the European Union, and when attempts at reform and change failed, he campaigned for the United Kingdom to seek a future separate of the EU.

Mr Farage was also a Member of the European Parliament for over 20 years, and therefore has great experience with the intricacies of the EU and dealing with its bureaucracy and legalities.

We are fully confident in saying that without Mr Farage, we would not be here today to conceive of a Brexit leading to an 'independent' Britain, let alone to speak of and to vote on it.

It would be utterly shameful and disrespectful to shut out this most dedicated, hardworking, and passionate man: a man who believed in Britain and her people in spite of years of scorn, derision, and sometimes even deeds of outright hatred towards his person and his family. Dismissing him out of hand because of media rumours and misconceptions about his personal views, and for a cynical attempt to generate a 'good image' would be a complete atrocity.

To leave him out in the cold after all his efforts to help us secure independence would also send a very clear message to us Leave voters as to what the greater Vote Leave campaign thinks of its campaigners and supporters who may deviate in parts from how we would like to see Britain go forward from this momentous decision. Do we need further division after a referendum that has split the country nearly in half?

We believe that if Britain is to secure a better and brighter future separate of, but not away from our European friends and neighbours, all voices that have led us to where we are today must be heard and weighed equally. We therefore put forth this request to the Vote Leave campaign to include Mr Farage at the negotiating table during cross-party talks.
