Vote For Fairness In College Football Playoffs

Vote For Fairness In College Football Playoffs
The Issue
College football is the pinnacle of collage sports and brings excitement to fans around the world. However, when the college football playoffs moved from four teams to 12 teams, restrictions were put in place to ensure that at least one school from outside the Power 4 (ACC, Big Ten, Big 12, SEC) would receive an opportunity to play in the college football playoffs. The result of that decision placed Tulane and JMU in the playoffs instead of Notre Dame and BYU. The fourth game in the college football playoffs is Oregon vs. JMU. This game is not competitive and won’t be exciting to watch. Instead, if Notre Dame played against Oregon, the game will be a true measure of college football’s top teams.
This is a major hole because of two major reasons. 1, Notre Dame was ranked as the number 11 team in the country while Tulane was 20 and JMU ranking in at 24. 2, If college football wants to have the most competitive matches this format just will not cut it.
Instead of this unfair system, the top 12 ranked teams in the nation should be chosen to play in the college football playoffs for the prestigious national championship. This system will make for a true playoff and reward the best teams in the country.
In conclusion, this system I proposed is the best for the sport and is what the fans deserve .
