Why is it personal to me?

My family has been part of Barstow since the 1960s, and like many others, we have loved ones laid to rest in Barstow Mountain View Memorial Park. This ground holds our shared history, our cherished memories, and our community. Seeing it neglected is painful, and we must stand together to protect and preserve it with the dignity our families deserve.

The Problem

Barstow Mountain View Memorial Park is more than just a resting place. It is a testament to our collective past, a sacred site where our ancestors, friends, and heroes are laid to rest. Unfortunately, years of limited upkeep and lack of long-term planning have left the grounds in need of consistent care and preservation. This neglect diminishes the peace and dignity that every resting place deserves.

Who We Are

We are Voices for Barstow Cemetery, a citizens' committee formed to ensure Barstow Mountain View Memorial Park is respected, maintained, and preserved.

Our committee is committed to:

 • Ensuring regular groundskeeping and a beautiful, colorful desert-scape so the cemetery is always cared for with dignity

 • Establishing transparent planning for improvements, so the community knows how decisions and funds are spent

 • Leading a community-driven initiative that guarantees long-term preservation remains a plan that is upheld and honored

Why It Matters

When communities preserve their historical sites, they foster pride, unity, and a sense of connection among residents. Cemeteries that are adequately cared for not only honor the past but also provide comfort to families and stand as reminders of our shared history. Barstow Mountain View Memorial Park, a significant part of our community, deserves that level of care and commitment.

Our Call to Action

We urge city officials, local businesses, and the broader community to come together in support of this cause. Your support is crucial. With your signatures, we can demand action, prioritize funding for maintenance, and create volunteer programs for ongoing care.

Together We Can

Join us in making Barstow Mountain View Memorial Park a place of peace and respect once again. Together, we can honor our past, uphold our present responsibilities, and ensure the beauty and dignity of our cemetery for generations to come.

Please sign this petition and lend your voice to our campaign for dignity, preservation, and accountability. Every signature is a voice for Barstow Cemetery.
