Voice Your Support to Striking Prisoners in Georgia
The Issue
Across Georgia, prisoners from all walks of life have unified in a nonviolent protest to demand that their basic human rights be granted. While refusing to leave their cells and engage in their daily chores and work, for which they receive no compensation, the striking prisoners have been beaten, deprived of heat and hot water, and have watched as prison authorities destroy their few personal belongings. Some have been sent to isolation cells, while others have been relocated to other prisons. Families and friends of prisoners, along with activists and advocates, have rallied in support of the prisoners' cause.
Please sign this letter, which will be sent to the Concerned Coalition to Protect Prisoner Rights, a broad-based group that is working to make sure the prisoners' voices are heard.
