After setting up content block of Adult content on the Vodafone home broadband router, ALL Falun Dafa (aka Falun Gong) related domains [1] also are blocked effectively. The scale is at least 16 domains with more than 100 Falun Gong related websites.

The definition of Adult content by the Vodafone is: “Sites such as Pornhub or Xhamster that contain content that may be deemed obscene, tasteless or sexually explicit- including those that are pornographic and glamorize self-harm.”

It is absolutely wrong and inappropriate to categorize Falun Gong as Adult content.

Falun Gong is an ancient Buddha school cultivation way that helps to purify the mind and body. It comprises of four gentle exercises and meditation which reduces stress, improving   health and wellbeing. Falun Dafa’s study materials encourages oneself to assimilate one’s mind and conduct to the universal values of Truthfulness, Compassion, and Forbearance which ultimately enhances wisdom and overall health. [2]

There are tens of millions of people of all ages practicing Falun Gong in over 100 countries.

However, since 20 July 1999, the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) started a ruthless religious persecution against Falun Dafa . [3] The state-run media launched a smear campaign to demonize Falun Gong and block truthful information by means of the ‘Great Firewall of China’ censoring system; Now known as the Golden Shield project, produced by the notorious company, Huawei. Such brutal persecution and relentless internet blockade has continued for 20 years.

 Vodafone are now actively lobbying the British government to allow the use of Huawei equipment in the UK’s 5G network. The persecution of Falun Gong is a human right atrocity that disregards freedom of belief and freedom of speech, something that could only happen under an authoritarian state. Therefore, why would Vodafone assist the CCP’s persecution of faith by using its router’s content control tricks?  which are not practiced by other broadband providers in the UK.

We urge that Vodafone to correct its wrongdoings by NOT categorizing Falun Gong as immoral Adult content.

We urge that Vodafone to comply with the country’s democratic foundations of Freedom of belief and freedom of speech.

We urge that the UK government to rule out use of Huawei.
