Dear friends,
With just one week to go until the world's attention moves to Russian football stadiums, not a single world leader has used this crucial moment to call on President Putin to deliver a World Cup of Peace.
Yet, from all corners of the world we have seen how much you care. So far over 53,000 people have joined our call for greater peace and security for Syrians ahead of the opening ceremony. We are incredibly grateful for this, but we must do more if we are to see real progress for our country. If we come together and reach out to world leaders, they will have no choice but to listen. Will you tweet Prime Minister May today?

On June 14th, government representatives will take their seat next to President Putin at the World Cup opening ceremony. We must act now to ensure this moment isn’t used to whitewash his record in Syria.
According to the Syrian Network for Human Rights direct Russia militarily engagement in our country has seen 6,133 civilians killed, including 1,761 children.
Please use your voice to remind your Government of this in the build-up to the World Cup. While the United Kingdom has already shown Russia a red card by announcing no British Government or Royal attendance at this year's tournament, there is more to be done. Your Government could call on President Putin to declare a nationwide ceasefire in Syria before the competition begins.
Tweet your Government now: https://bit.ly/2Ji8Jx1
As the eyes of the world transfix on Russia we have a unique opportunity to secure real progress for Syrians.
Thank you for standing with us,
The SAWA Diaspora Football Team
